From 2008 to 2012, he worked at the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan: represented government agencies' interests in tax disputes; engaged in legislative drafting work; recovered over 50 billion tenge for the budget and national fund.
From 2012 to 2014, he worked as a tax lawyer at Grata Law Firm: advised corporate clients on tax matters; represented clients' interests in tax disputes; assisted clients with corporate income tax and VAT refunds.
Currently, Gabitzhan continues his legal practice and is a Co-founder of the Kazakhstan Association of Tax Consultants. He has conducted classes and shared his experience with students at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
Gabitzhan runs a YouTube channel where he invites prominent Kazakhstani lawyers and judges to discuss current issues in tax and legal practice. He periodically publishes in Forbes and Kapital.
