OUR TEAM

From 2008 to 2012, he worked at the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan: represented government agencies' interests in tax disputes; engaged in legislative drafting work; recovered over 50 billion tenge for the budget and national fund.

From 2012 to 2014, he worked as a tax lawyer at Grata Law Firm: advised corporate clients on tax matters; represented clients' interests in tax disputes; assisted clients with corporate income tax and VAT refunds.

Currently, Gabitzhan continues his legal practice and is a Co-founder of the Kazakhstan Association of Tax Consultants. He has conducted classes and shared his experience with students at Maqsut Narikbayev University.

Gabitzhan runs a YouTube channel where he invites prominent Kazakhstani lawyers and judges to discuss current issues in tax and legal practice. He periodically publishes in Forbes and Kapital.

From 2012 to 2020, Nurlan worked at the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he advanced to positions of Deputy Head of the Legal Department and Deputy Head of the Non-Trade Turnover Department (customs division).
 
During his government service, he successfully represented the interests of tax authorities in court proceedings and actively participated in drafting legislative acts and regulatory resolutions of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the application of tax, customs, and environmental legislation. Thanks to his professionalism, over 100 billion tenge was recovered for the budget and national fund.
 
Nurlan's extensive experience in litigation involving tax, investment, and transfer pricing matters has enabled him to make a significant contribution to the formation of Kazakhstan's judicial practice.
 
Today, Nurlan is a key member of our team and heads the tax and customs practice areas.
